About me
Cate Tolnai is a strategic leader, educator, and connector dedicated to bridging innovation with equity across the education ecosystem. As Director of Micro-credentials and Innovative Credentials Strategy at the University of Phoenix, she leads initiatives that redefine how learning is recognized and leveraged in today’s workforce. Cate also serves as Adjunct Faculty and AI & Online Learning Faculty Lead at Notre Dame de Namur University, where she supports the next generation of education professionals through accessible, learner-centered instruction.
With over two decades of experience in K-12 education, professional development, and edtech strategy, Cate continues to support schools and districts as a consultant and coach through Tolnai Learning LLC—designing engaging learning experiences and guiding implementation of forward-thinking tools and frameworks. She brings a deep understanding of instructional design, marketing strategy, and partnership development from her previous leadership roles at organizations including Santa Clara County Office of Education, CUE, Krause Center for Innovation, and Santa Barbara County Education Office.
