Don Presant has been an innovator in flexible recognition since 2003. Today, Don is an internationally known expert on flexible recognition, a badge service provider (CanCred.ca) and a consultant for a wide range of clients, including post-secondary institutions and industry and professional bodies, the Government of Canada, Inter-American Development Bank and the International Labour Organization. In 2021 he served on the panel of international advisors for the UNESCO common definition for micro-credentials.
Don currently serves on the board of the Canadian Association for Prior Learning Assessment (CAPLA.ca), as co-producer of the international ePIC conference on open recognition and as advisor for initiatives such as CSA Group’s “Canadian Framework for Microcredential Meta-Data" and Credential Engine's "Prior Learning Portability Agreements and Policies Task Group.”
